Losing it

I finally got brave and stepped on the scale this week. I've got about 15 pounds to lose. Woooo. No small feat, but I know I can do it--because I've done it before!!
Now it's back to portion cookie instead of six...nutritious snacks between meals...not eating in the evening...and getting on the scale more often!

So I've started a list in the right sidebar to track my progress.

Yes, I am telling you that I'm starting at 170 lbs. on the dot. I was at 158 lbs. before getting pregnant with my son three years ago, and that was even a few pounds more than I liked. And my fat has redistributed since then, too, so I may have to go even lower to be happy. But I'm shooting for 155 lbs. as my goal. When I did Weight Watchers, I lost about two pounds/week (I lost about 25 pounds total). I'm not going to be that hard-core so I'm giving myself until the end of September to see where I'm at. Phew!

The largest contributor to my weight loss--or really any self-improvement--is writing it down. So I'm keeping a food log. Just knowing I have to write it down makes me think twice about putting something in my mouth!

So far, so good...and I swear, I already had more energy yesterday!! I'll keep you posted on my progress at each weigh-in.

oh I hear ya tab! i have about 15 lbs to go too!! i think its all about portion control as well....but for me i have not been working out like i used to before lily came along....doing cardio really helps me, but....just doesn't seem as important now! gotta get back to making it a priority. i'm behind ya, hope you do great, i know you will!!!

I have been lurking and I decided I needed to comment! Good luck on the weightloss. I lost a lot of weight 2 years ago and now I am trying to get my last 20 off. I was a little over 170 two weeks ago, and now I am 166! I am keeping at journal at

Wow! Good for you! I've been trying to lose 50 lbs for 8 years. lol
