Randomnessocity

A.k.a. "This post is all over the place."

And after 26 comments (and counting) from the spray painting party, anything less is going to be slightly disappointing--but I'm bracing myself. Every day can't be a "26 comments" kinda day.

So! Funny story. I took a meal to a gal from church who'd recently had surgery. I'd gotten a little lost on the way there plus I was battling traffic and construction (nothing new) so I was a little flustered as I deposited the KFC family meal to her husband at the door. As I turned to go, he said, "Thanks again!" and I said, "My problem!!" Then I go, "HA! That was 'my pleasure' and 'no problem' all wrapped into one!" and he laughed and said, "I like it! I'm gonna start saying, 'My pleasure, your problem!'" We had a good laugh and every time I thought about it, I cracked up. "My problem!" or "No pleasure!" Goodness. You gotta find the humor in life, right??

Next item: I made myself some magazine files using cereal boxes and scrapbooking paper. It was, ahem...interesting. Definitely trial and error. For extra upright storage that no one ever really sees close up, it might be worth it. The two on the ends are from IKEA, the other two are mine. I'm betting there's an easier way than the "trace, cut, retrace, recut" method I used. I'll keep you posted.

For a fill-in-the-blank. I loooooove to fill in blanks and put little checks in boxes and all that. My mom worked at an insurance agency when I was about 8 and would give me forms to fill out. I'm a sucker for surveys in the mail. I'll even fill it out then throw it away. I like quizzes, too, like the "What's your decorating style?" quizzes in magazines. LOVE 'em!

1. There is absolutely NO way you can get me to...live someone else's life, not even for a day, and not for all the money in the world.


2. Bright red toenails and new flip flops...remind me that summer is almost here! Must be close cuz here's my toes!

3. I cannot live without my...ridiculously comfortable king-size bed. How did people ever sleep on the ground??

4. Running a bed and breakfast and publishing a book...are two things I’d like to try.

5. When life hands you lemons...whip up some lemon toner! It's just the juice of a lemon and half a cup of witch hazel. Mix it and shake it, then apply with a cotton ball. Store it in the fridge for an extra dose of refreshment!

6. Vacations at the beach...are my favorite childhood memories.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to...a relaxing evening in. Tomorrow my plans include...shopping & having dinner at some friends' house. Sunday, I am going to...do the usual day-long church activities marathon.

7 random things about me

Yep, found this floating around in blog world, too. Since many of you are new, it'll be a nice "get to know you."
1. I bite my fingernails. Especially when I feel stressed. It's one of my few OCD tendencies.
2. I've kissed over 35 guys in my life, mostly from when I was age 16 to 23. The irony? I didn't kiss my now-husband until we said "I do." I kid you not. God has a weird sense of humor.
3. I spent my first twenty years living in Florida and the last ten living in Arizona. I say, "I traded the humidity for a dry heat." But, hey, let's face facts--hot is hot.
4. I am 5'9" tall. That's a little taller than average. I think tall = power. I married a man my height and often wish I could wear heels more often. I dream about wearing high heels, like some kind of subconscious wish. Which brings me to...
5. I dream a lot. In color. And I remember them quite often. I have hundreds of dreams I could recount to you right now. My husband and I spend a lot of mornings reporting our dreams to each other. I get it from my grandfather. He's a dreamer, too, and so is my mom.
6. I am very sweaty. Most of the time. My ayurvedic dosha is 'pitta' so it makes sense--we're "fiery." It's mostly my hands and feet so growing up Southern Baptist, I spent a lot of time praying that the pastor wouldn't ask everyone to join hands for prayer. Sometimes it worked. This is also partly why I kissed so many boys--we couldn't hold hands!!
7. I've been told I have cute feet. I'd like to believe that. I do my own pedicures and often get compliments. Good thing I live where it's flip-flop weather year-round.
